Randall Rd. Residence

2022

The front of the structure is clear of the existing entourage that is blocking the frontage of the house. The front steps are also renovated, as are the entrance door, the windows, and the building's overall façade. The entrance door is completely reworked, and the opening has been widened with added side viewing panels to allow more light in the living area. The living area is also cleaned, and the existing furniture has been removed and changed along with the flooring. There are also no existing ceiling lights in the structure, which have been added as well. The existing kitchen is retained, but the renovation included new flooring, a new backsplash, and new hardware. A new wall opening to the adjacent space is also created to allow more light and create a new and wider passage through the space. The dining area beside the kitchen is also revamped with a connected flooring to the living area to create a continuous flow. A new fenestration has also been created as an alternate exit and to allow floor light and ventilation into the space.

Upstairs we updated the finishes and flooring. We also created direct access from the master bedroom to the bathroom. Every bedroom's finishes and flooring have been updated. In the past, this lower level served as a garage and later it was turned into a storage area. We moved the door and changed the layout. By doing that we provided two new bedrooms and a family area.

The workshop shed is a free standing structure that serves as an artist's studio by the owner. It also serves as a separate storage area of the house. The clerestory window on top of the entrance of the structure not only gives more light inside but also serves as a great touch to the unique character of the structure.
